Gateway to culture and arts of the City in the Sky. Evidenced by this popular Pinto Art Museum. This has been the talk of the town and a go-to place of art enthusiast and even by millennials for its being picturesque and Instagram worthy atmosphere. This is not just a trip, but this is an experience.

Going to the beach and soak our body on water to battle the scorching hot season is a typical thing to do on a summer. And that leads me to think of a different way to cool down, this is a kick-off of my summer activity.

Pinto Art Museum is an out-of-door Mediterranean inspired villas, situated at the Silangan Gardens private subdivision in the City of Antipolo, province of Rizal. Numerous galleries and attractions can be found inside the said Museum.

Pinto means door in Filipino, and just by the entrance, it will give you a clue of what awaits inside.

Entrance Fee / Rate:
  • 200php / regular ticket
  • 180php / Senior citizens and PWD with valid IDs
  • 100php / children and students with valid school IDs
  • Free for children below 3 years old
Aside from the ticket, you’ll also receive a printed map for your guide, and lists of do’s and don’ts.

The first thing we noticed upon entering were the white couches and beds placed randomly inside the museum. Perfect if you want to get some rest after a tiring art activities and photo ops.

Pinto Art is composed of 6 galleries, showcasing different kind of arts from a different artists – Indigenous arts like paintings, sculpture, carvings, and even contemporary arts . You name it, Pinto art have it.

Visual arts are all over the place. And you will not just see them, but feel each in every paintings. It says something, it will teach you, will inspire you and even touch you.

This place is also ideal for debut and prenup pictorial.

Another one I love about this place is the idea of having a chapel inside the museum. Where you can do some reflection and recollection.

It takes one to know one, is not applicable in here. Because you don’t need to be an artistic to appreciate one. With the load of art displayed, for sure there’s one art for you.

Art in this museum is not limited on some piece, you’ve got to experience too the art of carving. This is a confirmation of how vast the art is, even on earlier time. Considering the very limited resources, it looks like it never stopped them.

*Tip: if you are planning to visit. Do it on a weekdays, as weekend and holidays is super crowded.

HOW TO GET HERE:

1.      In front of Gateway mall in Cubao, take a jeepney or FX bound to Antipolo. It will pass through LRT 2 Anonas, Katipunan and Santolan stations, as well as Robinsons and Sta. Lucia metro east mall. (Fare: Jeep – 30-35php, FX/Van – 50php)
  • Just inform the driver to drop you off in going to Antipolo church.
  • Travel time is approximately 30-45 minutes depending on the traffic situation.
2.      From there, ride a tricycle and tell the driver to take you to Pinto Art Museum, Grand Heights Subdivision. (Fare: 80-100php)
  • Try to haggle first before riding a tricycle so you won’t ended up paying higher amount.

Take Note:

Pinto Art Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and CLOSED on MONDAYS.
